Open as App.
Project / 02Web and mobile engineering for a no-code platform serving more than 70,000 active users, including its evolution from AngularJS to Angular.
Previous employment
Context
Open as App is a no-code platform for building and using applications. During my time there, the platform served more than 70,000 active users. I worked as part of its fully remote engineering team.
The challenge
The frontend needed to evolve from AngularJS to Angular while continuing to support an established product. The engineering context included web and cross-platform mobile applications, a distributed team, and an existing .NET and Azure stack.
My contribution
As a Senior Front End Engineer, I developed the web frontend used to build and consume no-code applications, contributed to the AngularJS-to-Angular migration, and developed mobile applications with Xamarin and C#.
Technical approach
The work combined TypeScript, Angular, RxJS, and Webpack with C#, Xamarin, and ASP.NET. The wider environment included Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, automated testing with Karma and TestCafe, and Azure DevOps.
What this work represents
Experience evolving an established SaaS product while working across web, mobile, and cloud technologies. The project was a team effort, developed in a fully remote organisation distributed across continents.
Project perspective
Contributed to the frontend and mobile applications of a no-code platform with more than 70,000 active users.
